Mackvader's engine gremlin reappeared during race preparations, despite numerous parts (possible culprits) being replaced since the last race. Mike, Matt and a couple of specialists continued to work on diagnosing the problem with no success. Concern for the engine resulted in Mackvader sitting out the Qualifying, Heat Race, Shoot Out, and Challenge Race. The #88 was out for the Drivers Meet and Greet, and planned to run the Parade Laps, 3-wide Salute, and a couple of laps in the Main Race.

before crash To the surprise of the team, Mackvader ran without issue! A sensor had been changed out with the hope of improving the trucks performance, but with VERY low expectation of success. The #88 moved from 16th position at the very back of the pack up to 11th place by the 8th lap, and was in line to pass #55 and #41 when disaster struck. The #55 spun hitting the wall between turns 3 and 4 with its back end and leaving the #88 no where to go but a hard hit on #55. Mackvader suffered extensive damage to the left front of the truck. The bumper broke when it bent under the engine, and the new cooling systems...?

The wall damage caused safety concerns which resulted in the race being halted while the wall was reinforced with additional concrete barriers. Neither truck finished the race.

POINTS STANDING

Morgan earned no points for Qualifying, Heat Race, or Challenge Race as Mackvaders engine issues continued. He did start the Main Race moving from 16th to 15th to collect 103 points. Total for this event was 103 points placing him in 15th overall with 524.5 points.
