Crisp Motorsports Park 2017

The final race of the inaugural 2017 Bandit Race season was held at Crisp Motorsports Park in Cordele, Georgia on Saturday, October 28th, and because of a rain delay, Sunday, October 29th. The 0.4 mile banked track is surrounded by white cotton fields. Substitute drivers: Joe Seaman driving for son Joey Seaman in the #29 and Jim Patterson driving for Trevor Kruckeberg in the #63.

Heat Races

The 17 race trucks were divided into three Heat Races with the #88 in Heat Race1. Morgan started in 4th, pulled ahead of #27, managed to get around #55 on the inside, and made an outside pass of #4 in the last lap to take 1st place just before the finish line!

Heat Race 2 was the first race for our newest driver and truck (#13, Bob Mitchell). The #16 of Tommy Boileau took the win after a battle with #14.

Heat Race 3 had some bumping between #17 and #02. The #54 of Tyler Kruckeburg started on the pole and finished with a win, while #17 and #01 went for a photo finish and 2nd place.

Challenge Races

Before the Challenge Races could run the threat of rain became a reality that required a postponing any further racing until the following afternoon.

Morgan started and finished on the pole of Challenge Race 1 with no one challenging him.

Challenge Race 2 started with #16 and #17 on the front row and ended these trucks taking 1st and 2nd.

A-Main Race

The A-Main Race had a 12-position inversion moving the #88 from the pole position to 12th. In the first lap #88 moved up into 8th. In lap 14 the #5 spun out going off track bringing out the caution flag. Morgan was in 8th for the restart. Morgan had moved up to 3rd by lap 23 when #55 spun out again sending #27 and #00 to the pits. Before being lapped a second time, the #13 had also headed into the pits.With the restart #88 held 3rd behind #16 and #17 in the final dash for the checkered flag.

The fans were allowed out on the track with the big rigs immediately after the race so they could meet the drivers, check out the trucks, collect some autographs and enjoy some Halloween candy. This was followed by the awards ceremony track-side.

Passing Points

After a full season of racing Mike Morgan and Justin Ball tied for third place... right down to the half point! And Tommy Boileau nearly took first place away from Ricky Rude! The top four drivers were separated by only 137 points. That's a lot of passing!!!
