Bandit racing returns to Elko Speedway in Elko, MN on Saturday, May 22nd. This is a 3/8-mile flat asphalt oval track. Morgan finished 3rd here in the Main Race to close out 2018. In 2019 Morgan was hit hard by a spinning sliding truck, sustaining extensive damage to the frame and undercarriage during his heat race and unable to start in the Main Race. Let's hope this year is better. [It was!]

Race Summary - Team 88-Mike placed 3rd in Heat Race 2; beat four other teams to win the Shoot Out; and won the Main Race! This was followed by donuts for the fans.

Three winners

QUALIFYING - Again, Morgan qualified with the 4th fastest truck of the night behind #99, #16, and #3. Truck #27 was driven by local police officer and dirt-track racer Mark Lang. Luke Whitmire, #51, ran his new light blue Peterbuilt, replacing the truck destroyed in Qualifying two weeks before at Salem Speedway.

HEAT RACES - Heat 1 was won by #66, Austin Hoppe, followed by #9, Jordan Cantrell. Team 88-Mike placed 3rd in Heat 2 behind #4, Scott Treadway, and #3, Alan Boles. Heat 3 was a Kruckeberg family duel with #63, Trevor, taking the win. The #55 spun out in lap 4 and finished last.

SHOOT OUT - The #55 had six wins before loosing to #51. The #51 had three wins before loosing to #4, who then lost to #88. Team Mackvader had four wins against the fastest trucks of the day to WIN the Shoot Out!

CHALLENGE RACE - In lap 14, the white flag lap, #55 spun hitting #54. Neither truck finished the race. The Challenge Race was won by #51 despite some over-heating issues. Because he won the Shoot Out the #88 was exempt from the Challenge Race.

MAIN RACE - This race was run without any cautions, but plenty of bumps and wobbles. Team #88-Mike started in 4th, had moved into 2nd by lap 6, and took the lead in lap 18. Mike Morgan held on for the WIN and the $10,000 check! This was his first feature win in nearly three years, and well earned. The win was followed by donuts for the fans young and old. Morgan than climbed to the roof of Mackvader for a victory wave to the fans.
