Salem Speedway is a high-banked, 1/2-mile oval track, i.e. a fast track. Morgan finished 3rd in the Main Race here in 2018, then in 2019 he finished 2nd after leading for 15 laps. In 2020 Salem was the only race of the season and #88 finished 5th. Let's hope it's a win this year!

RACE SUMMARY - Team Mackvader WON Heat Race 3 and placed 2nd in the Main Race after leading much of that race.

QUALIFYING - Salem racing got off to a crazy start in 2021 with truck #51 crashing hard into the wall when the right front tire blew during Qualifying. The driver was okay, but the truck was demolished, ending this team's racing for the evening. Extensive cleanup of debris and fluids on the track was necessary, so Qualifying was ended. Practice times were used for those teams who didn't have an opportunity to qualify. Mike Morgan had the third fastest qualifying time behind #99 and #16.

HEAT RACES - New driver Jordan Cantrell in #9 won Heat 1. The #55 went into the wall before the start of Heat 2, which was won by Alan Boles, #3. Heat 3 was won by #88, Mike Morgan who lead every lap of the race against the fastest trucks of the day!

SHOOT OUT - In the Shoot Out #41 won 3 races, #13 won 4 races, and #55 won 5 races (including against #88) before loosing to #99.

A new format was employed at this event with the first and second place winners of the Heat Races, plus the winner of the Shoot Out, drawing for the first six or seven positions in the Main Race. The remaining drivers participated in a Challenge Race with their order of finish determining the remaining starting positions in the Main Race.

CHALLENGE RACE - Eight trucks ran in the 15-lap Challenge Race. In lap 5 the #46 spun in front of #13 with no serious damage to either truck. After the restart #16 was black-flagged and returned to the pits; it turns out the battery connection was sparking, causing some concern. The Challenge Race was won by #41. Morgan was exempt from the Challenge Race because he won Heat Race 3.

MAIN RACE - Morgan started the race in the second row pole position (i.e., 3rd place), but moved into 1st during the first lap and held that position until lap 17 when #55 crashed into the wall bringing out the caution. On the restart the #99 truck managed to pull ahead leaving #88 in 2nd, but threatening to take first for the rest of the race. The caution flag came out again in lap 26 due to shredded tire debris on the track. The hometown driver, #99 - Brian Bayer, won the race and #88, Mike Morgan took a very tight 2nd.
