Madison International Speedway 2019
The Bandits made their second visit to Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wisconsin on Friday, August 2nd. The fast track is a 1/2 mile paved oval. Newest Bandit Zack Riddle was tapped to drive #69, but missed practice due to the late notice.
Morgan took it easy in practice and placed 11th in Qualifying.
Mike Morgan took the #88 from 4th to 1st by lap 3 and held it for a win in Heat Race 1! Kruckberg won Heat Race 2 in #55 and Ricky Rude took Heat Race 3 in his #14.
The Shoot Out had some excitment when #66 and #46 bumped, sending #46 Brian Cash into a spin, then slide into the infield where he found a deep mud hole. The front end sustained too much damage to continue racing, so he was out for the night. The Shoot Out was won by Mark Noble in #74 after he beat out six challengers.
Challenge Race 1 started with #3 on the front row and he won. Challenge Race 2 had a lot of the fast trucks. No wrecks, just some wobbles (partial spins), and #88 finished 6th. Ricky Rude in #14 won.
Morgan's #88 ticket was the first drawn for the A-Main Race which meant he started last. He steadily worked his way up to 5th place without any cautions in the race! Allan Boles in #3 tried so hard to catch the leader (and winner) Ricky Rude in #14 that his brakes caught fire as he pulled off the track after finishing 2nd. Darren Proffitt in #27 also had a hot break issue and fire. Craig Kruckberg in #55 fell off the pace in the last two laps, slipping from 3rd to 7th place. Congratulations to Mike Morgan and Mackvader for a 5th place finish after starting 15th!
