Bandit racing returned to Lake Erie Speedway in North East, PA on Saturday, July 13th. This is a 3/8s mile smooth flat oval track where Morgan won the Main Race in 2018.

Morgan was the third fastest qualifying truck at the track, with a lap time of 21.31 seconds, behind #3 (21.22) and #41 (21.23).

Heat Race 1 was won by Scott Treadway in his new #4 truck. And Mark Noble in #74 took Heat Race 2. Morgan started Heat Race 3 in 3rd but moved up to take the win. His after race interview with Daniel Vess was from the roof of the #88!

In the Shoot Out #88 beat #55, then #41, and then #3 to take the win! On the backstretch #3 hit the left rear of #88 pushing him into a spin. The #88 recovered giving the #3 a smack in the process and then pulled ahead for the win. Congratulations to Natalie who held the winning gold ticket!

Challenge Race 1 was taken by Luke Whitmire in #51; his first win. Challenge Race 2 was lead by #88 for five laps until #4 took the lead. Then #88 and #74 kept trading places with #74 taking 2nd by inches and the #88 taking 3rd. The winner was #4, Scott Treadway.

In the Main Race Morgan started in the 14th position, the back of the pack. On the very first lap trucks #7 and #13 bumped and behind them the #8 truck crashed into the styrofoam wall right in front of the spotters and families of many of the racers (including wife Wendy)! After the styrofoam was cleared away the #8 truck was sent off the track because it was leaking fluids. A full restart ensued.

After the first restart Morgan began moving forward: 10th by lap 3, 9th by lap 4, 8th by lap 5, 7th by lap 9, 6th by lap 12. In lap 20 the #41 truck tried to pass #88, but hit #88 hard instead, resulting in the #41 truck going into a spin that brought out another caution. With the restart #74 and #88 again battled for position. The #88 prevailed taking a respectable (and hard earned) 6th place finish.
