Myrtle Beach Speedway 2019
Myrtle Beach Speedway is a semi-banked 1/2 mile asphalt oval track. The Bandit Big Rig Series arrived on Friday, April 26th for their first racing appearance the following day in Myrtle Beach surrounded by the Horry County Fair.
The Driver Meet 'n Greet was held on the track home stretch to the delight of fans. Scott Treadway drove the #69 since his truck died at the first race of the season (he did our first ever truck cartwheel!). Adam Neeley in the #02 joined the group of drivers for his first race of the season.
Morgan placed 13th in qualifying times, which resulted in a Heat 1 race. He started in 5th place and finished in 3rd. The heat was won by Adam Neeley in the #02 truck. Heat 2 was taken by Marshall Davis after #55 turned into the #13 causing him to spin. The #51 came into the pits with a blown tire. Jon Lisenbee won the third heat race in #7.
The #88 faced Brian Cash in the Shootout, passed him early, but came in second. The overall winner was Tim Ashley in the #5.
The first Challenge race was won by Craig Kruckburg in #55 and the second Challenge race was won by Marshall Davis in #41. Morgan started in 9th and finished in 8th.
The Main Race start positions were all drawn by a race fan. The #88 was drawn second meaning Morgan started in 16th position. He managed to work his way up to 11th before the race ended.
