Powershift Performance

The 13 race trucks at the track were split into two Heat Races by drawing numbers for positions, followed by two Challenge Races, and then everyone raced together in the featured race. Winner of the feature event, Robbie Decker in #6, took home a $10.000 check! The rest of the teams shared prize money.

During the second lap of the second Heat Race (8 laps) Darren Proffitt in truck #27 lost power steering coming out of turn 4 and slammed into the wall in front of the grandstand causing considerable damage to the truck; Darren was bruised but okay. As the race finished Tyler Kruckeburg in truck #55 spun out entering turn 1. Morgan started in front, but lost a position to Rude after a battle between the two. Morgan finished in 2nd place.

Morgan started the second Challenge Race (8 laps) in 1st and finished in 1st place easily holding off Justin Ball in #17 and having lapped the end of the pack before the finish.

In the feature event of 20 laps Morgan started in 8th and finished in 6th place. Neither #3 nor #88 could get past #1 which was all over the track in the turns.

The two gentlemen with Morgan (see lower right) are former GATR racers Don Norman and Charles Norman. On the left is Bandit Operations Manager Brian Madsen. Plans are to bring some of the GATR guys and their trucks to a Bandit race for a few laps around the track.
