Powershift Performance

The second race at Highland Rim Speedway in Greenbriar, Tennessee was held on Saturday, September 23rd. Things started badly with the #55 of Craig Kruckenberg going into the wall during practice, thus ending his night early. The newest driver of the season is Jimi Day of Tennessee driving the #02 for Sundance.

Heat Races

In Heat Race 1 Morgan started in 4th, passed the #4, then #17, bumped the #63, but could not pass him before the race ended. The #88 Mackvader finished 2nd.

During Heat 2 the #01 truck seemed to be having some issues.

Challenge Races

Challenge Race #1 saw some battling between 14 and 3, 01 and 16. The #01 got into the back of the #16 causing the #16 to spin out just before the finish line.

In their Challenge Race, Morgan and the #88 Mackvader started and ended in 1st place with a 1/3 track lead.

A Main Race

The A-Main Race was delayed when the #01 truck died entering the track. That driver moved to the #02 truck and the race start order was adjusted. With the inversion pill the order of the top eight trucks was inverted. Morgan started in 7th place. The race began with some 3-wide bumping in the first turn that left parts on the track and resulted in a full restart.

The #88 and the #14 had both passed the #3 In lap 7 Mackvader was hit first in the rear and then in the side by Allen Boles #3 driving Morgan into the wall of Turn 4 and then over the wall into the catch fence. The #3 rode the wall down the straight away. Both drivers were okay, but both trucks were done, as was the track. The race night ended with a massive clean up to follow.

Morgan still holds 3rd place in the points race. [Oops, points have been revised and Morgan is now in 4th. And now points have been corrected.]
